Cargo Care Solutions has launched its CSA Software, a proprietary engineering tool that enables shipowners, operators, design offices and shipyards to assess and optimise container Systems within minutes. The software supports both newbuilding projects and retrofit decisions for existing container ships.

Our CSA Software gives customers a much faster way to understand the vessel's operational limits and identify which improvements are worth considering. It gives them a practical basis for decisions about safe capacity, compliance and return on investment. - Peter Peltenburg, CEO

Maximum container capacity depends on the performance of the complete securing system, rather than on individual components alone. Using vessel data and Cargo Care Solutions' engineering expertise, the Lashing CSA Software evaluates the system as one integrated structure. The analysis considers hatch covers, lashing equipment and configurations, lashing-bridge and the vessel's actual operational limits. It then assesses optimized alternatives for safe, efficient and reliable operations.

Newbuilding

For newbuildings, the software helps Cargo Care Solutions work with design offices and shipyards to define an effective container securing System early in the design process. This allows the lashing system and its components to be selected around vessel capacity, intended trades, compliance requirements and long-term performance.

Retrofits

For retrofits, the analysis begins with the vessel's onboard condition. Cargo Care Solutions can combine software insights with checks of hatch covers, lashing bridges and existing lashing patterns to identify blocked container positions, unused fittings and limiting configurations. The findings are translated into practical, vessel-specific options, such as revised arrangements or structural upgrades, to support higher container capacity, more efficient stowage and safe operations without compromising reliability.

“Owners and operators are under pressure to make every container slot count, but capacity only has value if the securing arrangement can support it safely and reliably,” said Peter Peltenburg, CEO, Cargo Care Solutions. “A vessel may appear to have space available, but the real question is whether the hatch covers, lashing bridges, fittings and lashing pattern work together within the vessel’s operational limits. Our CSA Software gives customers a much faster way to understand those limits and identify which improvements are worth considering. It gives them a practical basis for decisions about safe capacity, compliance and return on investment.”

Complete service-life approach

The launch strengthens Cargo Care Solutions' complete service-life approach to container lashing. Alongside analysis and system design, the company provides engineering, tested and certified lashing equipment, documentation, crew training, spare parts, onboard inspections and operational support. Its lashing specialists draw on more than 40 years of maritime experience and support customers through a global network of maritime hubs.
